What's good world, we back from the crypt with some more of that hood philosophy shit, and on this episode of the podcast I'm doing a little hip hop pedagogy on the Kendrick Lamar deep cut HiiiPower.
So much deep philosophy on this track and I wanted to get into the work of perhaps the most obscure philosopher KDot mentions, Marcus Garvey, who was best known for his ideas on pan-Africanism, repatriation, collectivism, taking pride in one's cultural heritage, education aimed at mobilizing the masses to overcome their oppressors, and all that other fun shit that makes YT liberal academics quiver in their ivory towers.
Can't help but wonder if the reason they never teach Garvey has less to do with the quality of his ideas and more so with the potential effects they may have.
Stay woke fam...
